Great little radio! If you have to have volume enough to make your ears bleed then this isn't it. This unit is perfect for anybody doing work in private housing or apt.remods where sound can become an issue. The AC/CD cnverter is just one more thing to carry in/out so unless the job is going to last awhile crack a little more leather and buy an extra battery. You can always use it as a spare.

I work in the construction field where hulking in tool after tool from my truck is an everyday hassle. So when I was in the market for a solid worksite radio, what I didn't want was a big Dewalt brick of a product. Granted, the Dewalt is a good quality radio, it's just too big. So I found this Milwaukee on Amazon, and after reading a few reviews, I decided it was just what I needed.



Boy am I glad I chose it. It's unusually small, but very solidly built. My 80gb ipod (5.5 gen) fits snuggly into the provided compartment. There's an auxiliary cable already inside the compartment, with an elastic band that holds the ipod tightly in place. My biggest concern was battery life, especially since like all radios not named Dewalt, this one does not charge the battery while it's plugged in. As it turns out, it hasn't been an issue thanks to the very fast battery charger. In 20 minutes, the battery is fully charged and ready to go. And I've gotten 5 hours out of one charge. Now, carrying around the charger, battery and radio would seem to be a hassle if you, like me, don't own any other Milwaukee products to interchange with. I have to say, it has been no problem whatsoever. I bought a small Husky brand tool bag from Home Depot, and all three items fit perfectly inside. The bag itself is about half the size of a Dewalt radio, so you're still saving space. Add to that the sound quality, which is astounding considering the size difference, and you end up with a very good option for those wanting to stay away from the yellow, or wanting a smaller radio.



Pros- Size, battery life and sound. Ipod shock resistant and weatherproof compartment

Cons-Battery doesn't charge while radio is plugged in.

After spending a fortune on D batteries on our beach trip last summer to fill up our old boom box, I knew it was time for a change. I wanted something I could plug my iphone into, something small, durable, and a rechargeable battery. My Google search with this criteria led me straight to the M12, and man am I glad it did. Check out the YouTube video of this thing if you question its durability. I haven't been to the beach yet, but I did bring it with me to play a couple hours of tennis with some friends. The battery indicator didn't even drop, and I had it at 3/4 volume. My iphone fits into the compartment perfectly, as I stream endless commercial free music via Rhapsody, Pandora and Slacker via the 3G network (iTunes is dead eventually). I have a $3000 JL/Alpine audio system in my car, so I know really good sound. Of course I wasn't expecting much more than clear sound from the M12, and of course no bass to speak of. Listening to this little guy inside from 8 feet away was sort of disappointing. It's not until you get it outdoors do you see how this thing just seems to cut through all the ambient sounds of the outdoors and delivers clear rocking sound to my ears even yards and yards away. For me, this is the perfect travel radio. Also, the charger works well...only 30 minutes to charge the 6 hour battery. One of the prongs was bent on the charger (this is common in the reviews). Be a man and fix it yourself if this happens to you. It wasn't hard to figure out. Peace and great music to all.



PS. The radio comes in well, even without the antennae up for many stations. I don't listen to radio (too many

car commercials and other retarded ads), but thought I would be helpful.



PSS. To maximize the sound quality, I like to turn it up to about 3/4's, bring the bass down 2 notches, and the treble up 4 notches. Turning up the bass too high will cause the sound to be pretty muddy in a hurry. This isn't meant to provide dance floor bass....

I was amazed at how small this radio is. I didn't think that it would work for me at all, but I was surprized at just how big it sounds. It has very good sound quality. With your eyes closed, you would swear that this was a much larger unit. The only fault that I could find with it was the low battery life. With a full charge, the battery only last about 4 hrs with the radio on. I looked for a power adaptor that would plug into the cigarette lighter, but Milwaukee doesn't make one. They make a charger that plugs into the lighter, but that just charges the battery. If they made that power adaptor, this radio would get a perfect rating.

I bought this radio to use in the garage and out doors on the patio and on the dock at the lake. The sound quality is fantastic the volume is more than needed for out doors . I like the looks of this radio over the newer Milwaukee radio. The battery is a little pricey but it lasts about 8 hours with normal volume usage and recharges in less than one hour. I may buy another rdio so I can leave one in my garage and take another to the lake!!

i've been using the v28 line since they came out. i have a 4 piece combo. i am disappointed in the line all together. when i first got them, i was impressed. but after using them for several years, they are aggravating. milwaukee has an issue with their battery. i lost treack a long time ago how many i have went thru. if you are lucky, you will get about a year and a half. the tool distributor has always exchanged them no questions asked, but it is very annoying to have to keep returning them. in fact, i bought a spare just so i can keep 2 goin all the time. i have never seen or heard of any of these getting over 500 recharges while milwaukee claims 2000. i wished they would have done test studies before releasing them. i guess thats why dewalt waited almost 2 years before releasing theirs. i have a dewalt 36 volt kit i use regularly and have had no problems with batteries. the only problem i have had is the drill chuck exploded once. it was repaired free of charge. i have used the kit for about 20 months. the rplacement chuck looked improved. beware, if using holesaws, MAKE SURE you use the solid shank arbors, as the self tightening chuck will crush the hollow shank lenox very soon. so my opinion would be go with the dewalt over milwaukee.

I have multiple V28 tools. I am very pleased with their performance. As my old battery powered tools give up, I will replace them with Milwaukee. A hard learned lesson, do not take any Li Ion battery down to absolute zero. It harms the cells. Despite my mistake, the battery still charges, it is just quirky and the service center pronounced it dead (yes, it still works). Milwaukee's warranty on their batteries is great. The battery remembers when it was charged the first time, and your warranty counts down from there. Although Milwaukee will prorate after 2 years, it is prorated based on list price, so you are better off buying replacements from Amazon

I'm only a do-it-yourself-er but I don't shy away from bigger projects that test the mettle of a drill. I just don't do them often. So, I went in search of a decent drill that had the support of professionals who use their drills all the time but not a drill so great that it hurt my wallet.



I researched Lithium-Ion drills pretty extensively on-line. At the end, it was between this drill and the Makita BDF452HW. On paper (on-line tests), the Makita looks slightly better but it has a few issues: no bit holder, no belt clip and known battery problems. I could have bought the clip and holder on-line but the battery issues were a concern for me and I was irritated that I'd have to buy those parts separately.



Reconditioned was perfect for me. I could get a great drill for a seriously discounted price. I don't have any fear of reconditioned tools. After all, they've been inspected and tested by a real human being before they go out. Plus, CPO has a decent reputation.



So far, I think this is a great drill. Plenty of power, good balance and feel and it comes with a belt clip and bit holder. The "fuel gauge" type charge indicators on the batteries is really cool too. I think I picked a winner. Sure the Makita charges in 15 minutes and this one takes 30 minutes but who cares? I've got two batteries and one can always be on the charger. Plus, if it ever becomes an issue, I can dig out the dirt under my fingernails while I wait the extra 15.



Little annoyance: The drill has clearly been used. It's not "like new". There's actually sawdust in the crevices and it's scuffed up (not bad though). Further, for some reason CPO insists on carving numbers into the drill and the battery. Why??



One other little annoyance: The bit holder can hold two bits. However, they only gave me one bit and it's only a Phillips head. What??



Overall, I am very pleased and I'll get over my little annoyances. I think this is a great drill and it would, no doubt, get 5 stars if the drill were new.

CPO is a very solid company to buy from. I have purchased several things from them and have had good luck. That luck has recently takena beating with the purchase of this drill. The drill itself while being reconditioned is excellent. The lithium ion batteries included with the drill; not so much. The first battery lost it's charge quicker than a jack rabbit on a date. The second dead like dillinger right out of the box. The only thing that kept me from becoming cpo anti-matter was their uber-great customer service. I recieved a brand new set-up asap and it has been a great drill. Saw if at sears for two hundred bones. Great deal for a top notch drill.
