I'm only a do-it-yourself-er but I don't shy away from bigger projects that test the mettle of a drill. I just don't do them often. So, I went in search of a decent drill that had the support of professionals who use their drills all the time but not a drill so great that it hurt my wallet.



I researched Lithium-Ion drills pretty extensively on-line. At the end, it was between this drill and the Makita BDF452HW. On paper (on-line tests), the Makita looks slightly better but it has a few issues: no bit holder, no belt clip and known battery problems. I could have bought the clip and holder on-line but the battery issues were a concern for me and I was irritated that I'd have to buy those parts separately.



Reconditioned was perfect for me. I could get a great drill for a seriously discounted price. I don't have any fear of reconditioned tools. After all, they've been inspected and tested by a real human being before they go out. Plus, CPO has a decent reputation.



So far, I think this is a great drill. Plenty of power, good balance and feel and it comes with a belt clip and bit holder. The "fuel gauge" type charge indicators on the batteries is really cool too. I think I picked a winner. Sure the Makita charges in 15 minutes and this one takes 30 minutes but who cares? I've got two batteries and one can always be on the charger. Plus, if it ever becomes an issue, I can dig out the dirt under my fingernails while I wait the extra 15.



Little annoyance: The drill has clearly been used. It's not "like new". There's actually sawdust in the crevices and it's scuffed up (not bad though). Further, for some reason CPO insists on carving numbers into the drill and the battery. Why??



One other little annoyance: The bit holder can hold two bits. However, they only gave me one bit and it's only a Phillips head. What??



Overall, I am very pleased and I'll get over my little annoyances. I think this is a great drill and it would, no doubt, get 5 stars if the drill were new.

CPO is a very solid company to buy from. I have purchased several things from them and have had good luck. That luck has recently takena beating with the purchase of this drill. The drill itself while being reconditioned is excellent. The lithium ion batteries included with the drill; not so much. The first battery lost it's charge quicker than a jack rabbit on a date. The second dead like dillinger right out of the box. The only thing that kept me from becoming cpo anti-matter was their uber-great customer service. I recieved a brand new set-up asap and it has been a great drill. Saw if at sears for two hundred bones. Great deal for a top notch drill.

I was amazed at how small this radio is. I didn't think that it would work for me at all, but I was surprized at just how big it sounds. It has very good sound quality. With your eyes closed, you would swear that this was a much larger unit. The only fault that I could find with it was the low battery life. With a full charge, the battery only last about 4 hrs with the radio on. I looked for a power adaptor that would plug into the cigarette lighter, but Milwaukee doesn't make one. They make a charger that plugs into the lighter, but that just charges the battery. If they made that power adaptor, this radio would get a perfect rating.

This radio is very sturdy and has decent volume. I was concerned that it might not be loud enough. While it doesn't have a huge sound, it's loud enough to play over noises made during home projects. The radio clarity is great with the antenna up, and bass is acceptable for my tastes and standards. M12 battery and plug-in options make it versatile. The handles along the side make it easy to carry or even hang from the ceiling, it would easily survive that fall. I'm curious if the door to the unit will stand the test of time, or whether or not the thin elastic band meant to secure an mp3 player will hold up and not fray. I plan to also use this as an all-weather picnic radio/mp3 player.

I'm a Milwaukee fanatic, and have dozens of their tools, including this and the larger, heavier jobsite radio. Neither will charge a battery, which seems like an oversight. The sound on this one is quite nice, and is made to store an mp3 player safely out of the dust zone. Super light weight, I really like it, although it doesn't have the sonorous sound myJVC RVNB20B Kaboom MP3 CD Boombox has, so bear in mind this won't blare over your chop saw, but does have a rugged, handy, a pretty-darn-good sound quality.



I use this in rugged environments, and then when I'm ready for finish work I haul in the JVC!



The larger jobsite radio is nice, too, and uses different voltage batteries, which is nice, and the batteries last a long time. This one drains the battery quite fast, and especially so using an mp3 player.

Ok I'm gonna be real with this review, i'm not gonna compare this thing to other high doller radios or any of that crap. This is a jobsite radio which i use it for. I could careless that it doesn't charge batteries because its meant to be used on the jobsite where most of the time there is no outlets around or if they are they are being used buy other tools. Yes it does take 3 or 4 aaa batteries, i can't remember, haven't changed them since i got this 3 months ago. They are used for the clock and station presets anyway so no big deal. If you do use at your shop it does come with an ac adapter.



The radio is small which i love but also packs a pretty good punch. Yeah its not as loud as the Bosch but hey its only 1/4 the size so i'm not complaining. The batteries for me have seemed to last around 5 hours which i think is ok. 2 batteries gets me through the workday. The covered mp3 case is very nice since my mp3 player cost more than this radio. To me this thing is great. FM reception is good, loud enough i can hear it where ever i'm working, small-doesn't take up much room in your truck, built very well and for 99 bucks you can't beat it.

I've got an airport express rubber-banded to it, cabled into the mini audio in.

I unplug it, move it, plug it in and it remembers its EG settings (punch thing, 3 different bass settings, fine) and mode (aux in) and volume.

This radio has definitely served me well. It is well constructed to take the abuse of a job site right down to the rubber antenna. Anyone who has ever taken their radio on a job site knows that the antenna is the first thing to break which usually leaves it completely unusable until someone brings a wire clothes hanger to substitute as an antenna.



The only downside to this radio is that it doesn't have a built in cd player. But that can easily be fixed by using a portable cd player with the aux jack on the side of the radio. You can then store the cd player and cd's in the handy sack attached to the back of the radio.



It has a power cord when power is available and it also uses batteries from your Milwaukee tool set which lasts for a surprisingly long while.

i've been using the v28 line since they came out. i have a 4 piece combo. i am disappointed in the line all together. when i first got them, i was impressed. but after using them for several years, they are aggravating. milwaukee has an issue with their battery. i lost treack a long time ago how many i have went thru. if you are lucky, you will get about a year and a half. the tool distributor has always exchanged them no questions asked, but it is very annoying to have to keep returning them. in fact, i bought a spare just so i can keep 2 goin all the time. i have never seen or heard of any of these getting over 500 recharges while milwaukee claims 2000. i wished they would have done test studies before releasing them. i guess thats why dewalt waited almost 2 years before releasing theirs. i have a dewalt 36 volt kit i use regularly and have had no problems with batteries. the only problem i have had is the drill chuck exploded once. it was repaired free of charge. i have used the kit for about 20 months. the rplacement chuck looked improved. beware, if using holesaws, MAKE SURE you use the solid shank arbors, as the self tightening chuck will crush the hollow shank lenox very soon. so my opinion would be go with the dewalt over milwaukee.

I use this battery to power the Milwaukee job site radio and it does a great job. It has plenty of power and charge lasts a long time. Also, it charges up very fast(45 minutes) and love the built in battery strength lites. All in all, a quality product but not cheap. Nothing good rarely is.

I purchased this battery to go with my new V28 Milwaukee worksite radio. I was expecting this battery to power my radio (only) for at least 20 hrs before needing to be recharged. WRONG !!!! After 8 hours, the battery is dead. Very disappointed ....

I have multiple V28 tools. I am very pleased with their performance. As my old battery powered tools give up, I will replace them with Milwaukee. A hard learned lesson, do not take any Li Ion battery down to absolute zero. It harms the cells. Despite my mistake, the battery still charges, it is just quirky and the service center pronounced it dead (yes, it still works). Milwaukee's warranty on their batteries is great. The battery remembers when it was charged the first time, and your warranty counts down from there. Although Milwaukee will prorate after 2 years, it is prorated based on list price, so you are better off buying replacements from Amazon
